Koutarou Amon: Intro

Koutarou Amon (Amon Ktar) is a former Ghoul Investigator of First Class. He was Kureo Mado’s last partner, and Akira Mado was his previous partner. The CCG later declared him dead, though his body was never found, and he was posthumously promoted to Special Class for his distinguished service. He reappeared alive as an artificial one-eyed ghoul during the Rushima Landing Operation.

Appearance: Koutarou Amon

Amon is a tall and attractive young man with black hair and teal eyes. His brows are distinctively curved at the ends. He has an extremely athletic and muscular build as a result of his consistent, vigorous training.

Amon, like most ghoul investigators, wore a black suit with a tie. When he left for an investigation, he wore a white overcoat over his suit. He also wears a silver cross necklace.

Years later, he is dressed in a hooded cloak and an outfit with a high collar underneath. In his right eye, he carries a kakugan.

His right forearm and hand are made of kagune, with only three fingers and a blade-like extension growing alongside the finger on the right side of his hand. When his right hand is damaged in battle, it regenerates with four fingers but no blade-like extension. His right hand regenerates with five fingers one month after the Rushima operation.

Info To Have: Koutarou Amon

Koutarou Amon came to the conclusion that the world was wrong as a result of his personal experience as an orphan as a child, so he made it his mission to change it. Because he believes ghouls are twisting the world, he sees eradicating them as a way to mend it. After being saved by Ken Kaneki, Amon began to doubt the righteousness of his crusade and expressed interest and curiosity in understanding the ghoul. Amon is a likeable, sympathetic young man with a strong sense of justice who is dedicated to his cause.

So much so that he defines morality as anything done in the name of justice, as evidenced by his digging into a grave, which other investigators deemed immoral. Because of his childhood connection with ghouls and being raised by one, the fuel for his actions lies in his soft spot for children. One of the main reasons for his hatred of ghouls is the loss of these children’s precious ones. This is best demonstrated when he sees an orphaned child taken in by the CCG and is motivated to work rather than rest.

Despite being firm in his beliefs about his responsibilities, he is fearful of losing people close to him. He has lost many people in his life and is afraid of losing more; he admits this to himself while fighting Kaneki, who also feels the same way. Amon reacted strongly to Kureo Mado’s death because of this proclivity. He becomes nearly obsessed with the ghouls responsible while feeling guilty for not arriving in time.

Amon’s worldview gradually changed after he was transformed into a one-eyed ghoul. Amon could no longer hold onto the rage and hatred that had once fuelled his life’s purpose because he had become the very thing he despised and vowed to destroy. As a result, Amon became consumed by feelings of emptiness, believing that his time in the CCG had been a waste and that he could no longer see a place for himself in the world. Amon regained a sense of direction in his life only after accepting emptiness as a “feeling” in and of itself.

Aesthetic

Kotaro Amon does wear suits that make him look like a gentleman who does always look to complete the mission. His hair is a typical Asian anime character and the black look does give a creative touch. This does show his class and why the girls do fall in love with him. Hence, it does allow Kotaro to keep his fame in Asia and around the world. As the anime is dubbed in many languages, one can know how the legend of Kotaro has won the heart of many human beings around the world. His nose one might say is like many would love to have in real life.
