Ola Afolabi made his professional debut in 2002 against Gerard Barber. The bout was a draw. He was promoted to a full-time move to cruiserweight in 2004. On 12th April 2008, Ola won his career’s first title, WBO NAVO Cruiserweight, defeating Eric Fields via TKO. The following year, he won WBO Cruiserweight Title, knocking out Enzo Maccarinelli. In the following bout, Ola lost to Marco Huck on 5th December 2009 via a unanimous decision.

On 19th March 2013, he defeated Lubos Suda and won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title, retaining it one more time in the following bout against Terry Dustan. He won interim WBO Cruiserweight against Valery Brudov on 3rd March 2012,. On 4th November 2015, he won the IBO Cruiserweight title eliminator against Rakhim Chakhkiyev. Following that bout, he had two losses and Afolabi decided to call time and announced his retirement.
